Weather hard on power lines

Trees suffer from snow and ice

After the first snow, we saw the cable line was weighted by branches heavily laden with snow.
My husband took the tree trimmer out and removed the branch. If it had been a power line, PUD would have been called as no private citizen should mess with branches or trees over power lines. That is a job for the professionals.

In the second picture, a 30 foot tall tree near our tool shed succumbed to the weight of the snow and toppled over into the yard.

Picture number three shows the damage to our 60 foot cherry tree. A main branch snapped under the weight of the snow on the branches and the vine that grew in the tree. It has been there for years and will be missed this coming summer during the hot spell.
