On the morning of December 23rd, my two-year old daughter and I chose to make the most of being snowed in for the past 3 days. She chose the hat and scarf for her very first snowman, then exercised much self-control in the "not-eating" of the prune eyes, carrot nose, and licorice smile that would later become "Mr. Shivery". You may remember the goose-bump inducing children's game which starts with a tight squeeze on the shoulders, followed by a cool breeze (blow on the bare back), and a light tickle with the words "now you have the shiverees". Our snowman reminded my daughter of this game, thus the name Mr. Shivery. She could hardly wait to see if he was still waiting for her on Christmas Eve morn. HE WAS!
