Stanwood Flooding

Flooding is taking place in Stanwood Washington 1/9/09. Everything south of SR 532 is under several feet of water and crews have been fighting all day to prevent the flood waters from spilling over HWY 532 and into downtown Stanwood. The Stillaguamish has reached almost 21 ft being pushed by an 11 ft high tide, flood stage on the Stillaguamish starts at 14 ft. They have evacuated people from houses by Big Rigs and boats. The Coast Guard has been seen patrolling by helicopter we assume looking for people that need to be rescued.
