International Space Station over Renton

ISS over my backyard in Renton

Finally! Got another good shot of the ISS despite some annoying high clouds. Station was about 230 miles directly overhead tonight when I got the image with a Vesta Pro webcam, hand guided with a 12" Meade LX200 telescope.

Google for "Steve Mogg adapter" that is the attachment I used for mounting the camera. You can also glue a Fuji film 35mm canister on there with the end cut off. Fuji has just the right 1.25 inch diameter.

It's a little Vesta Pro camera that I got on Ebay for $30. Attached with a "Mogg adapter" see http://tinyurl.com/bb5qjg A Fuji film 35mm canister can work too if glued on carefully. If you can still find film! :-)

Cool! Love stuff like this! How is your webcam hooked up to the telescope?
