Announcer struck by monster truck

I attended the monster truck nationals in Madison. During the show the announcer was hit by a truck as he stepped back out on the floor.

It's merely an accident since it does not happen that often. If it happened frequently and was not a shock to hear it, then safety concern would come to mind. People get killed crossing the hiway. We live in a world with daily risks.

I grieve with the family that lost their beautiful little son. and It's sad that the announcer was hit. But when you go to a dangerous event "you are in danger". Don't take away the excitement of spectators that like this entertainment, w/more rules.

What safety precaution would keep the announcer/promoter from making one wrong assumption that cost him his life?

The past few incidents have been a lesson that these truck shows are not taking proper safety guidlines into stride. How many deaths is it going to take for someone to take charge and ensure peoples safety?
