Pro Border Patrol crowd braves wind and snow

Border Patrol supported in Sequim

Supporters of the Border Patrol and their operation in Clallam and Jefferson counties lined Washington Street in Sequim outside the big box stores.
Displaying signs saying "Support US Border Patrol", "Illegal aliens are Illegal" and "Deport Illegal Aliens", the crowd varied between 100 and 150. Passing motorist showed their overwhelming support by waving, honking and giving thumbs up. I had passed through twice before I decided to stop and take pictures. I suddenly realised that this show of support for the Border Patrol would not appear on any news unless some one took the time to make it happen.
I was pleasantly surprised by the show of support in Sequim as opposed to the attitude in Port Townsend last week.

When your employer lays you off because he can hire 3 mexicans for the price of one american or when your identiy has been robbed. you'll change your views.

Mexicans need to fix thier country instead of running to the north. I dont buy this excuse that thier not criminals. They enter our counrty illeaglly, destroy the ranchers property with trash, steal american's indenity.

I think that if iligals are taken they should have a really good reason to take them. But there are people who are just looking for a better life like ever human on earth would do if you were in there shoes.

What part of Illegal since 1929 and violating U.S. Code do you "illegal" [Immigrant/Criminal] supporters not understand. My wife, and two daugther-in-laws came here LEGALLY from 3rd world countries and are now U.S. Citizens. DO IT LEGALLY!

Nate says ... on Sunday, Mar 15 at 10:23 PM

Supporting law enforcement is one thing, propagating racism is another. Entering the United States without documents is a misdemeanor. Do you all feel as passionate about enforcing the rest of the U.S. legal system as well?

carartt says ... on Friday, Mar 13 at 5:14 PM

Look at the Washington State Patrol's "Most Wanted List". How many are illegals?? How much longer do we have to eat this crow?

Alex says ... on Friday, Mar 13 at 12:24 PM

The Border Patrol says (At 2 public forums) their #1 mission on the Olympic Peninsula is catching terrorists. If the bad guys have cell phones, can’t they alert each other to a checkpoint by sending someone ahead to check things out? Security Theater

is telling me this. He's from California. I guess the MCDC not only have a problem with the 4th amendment but also the 1st. Maybe they should try to take away their 2nd, since they don't care about the rest of them.

KitsapPatriot says ... on Friday, Mar 13 at 6:37 AM

Hal Washburn, the MCDC vetting officer told me to move out of the border zone, if I didn't like the check points. The so called border zone is the entire state of Washington. It's interesting that an idiot that's not even from this state,

Aztlan buster you are the only traitor here. I used to support minutemen, now I don't. The checkpoints are illegal.

using your tax money to support them in prison? What should be done there? I don't like that my tax money goes to child molesters and such. There could be better use for it.

I agree with depoting immigrants who have criminal records, gangs, drugs, rapes, etc. But Leave the hard working ones alone, they're just trying to make a living like you and me. What about americans who have criminal records, do you all agree in...

gaby says ... on Thursday, Mar 12 at 1:39 PM

There are so many homeless people out there that are US citizens. They prefer to be at the entrance and exits of freeways asking for money, instead of filling out an application at a fast food restaurant (unlike immigrants who start out like that)

MikeyB says ... on Thursday, Mar 12 at 11:55 AM

Being illegal immigrants DOES make them a criminal, they broke the law when they came here. Many "nice" immigrants have gang ties and have lengthy criminal histories in their own countries. It's a $10k fine for employers; ENFORCE IT!

Anonymous says ... on Thursday, Mar 12 at 8:38 AM

I know so many illigal immigrants that don't even have a speeding ticket. Being an illigal immigrant doesn't make them crimminals.

Washington still may have a future, unlike California which I left last year. However, how come you don't need proof of legal residence to get a driver's license? Maybe because our legislators are softheaded wusses?

Herr Citizen says ... on Sunday, Mar 8 at 9:07 PM

I love it. Proof of citizenship required 24/7. US Passport or birth certificate, if you please. Don't leave home without it.

We must let our voices be heard loud and clear! Pelosi was at a church this weekend saying we must help these people come out of the shadows! Americans unite and call Pelosi.

The govt. does not want to stop ID theft. http://tinyurl.com/37zmd8 It looks better to stop and question Joe six-pack and the kids as they go about thier business somewhere on the Olympic Peninsula.

Brittanicus says ... on Sunday, Mar 8 at 7:29 PM

E-Verify is the most powerful asset we have to halt parasite employers from stealing jobs from Americans. Contractors on construction site seeing an extra dollar they can make from hiring an illegal worker. If we only enforce our immigration laws

Brittanicus says ... on Sunday, Mar 8 at 7:28 PM

We need E-Verify enacted now! Not for 5 years---but in perpetuity? Senator Harry Reid blocked E-Verify in the Stimulus, and was supported by his co-conspirators--Pelosi, Robert Menendez, Gutierrez, Feinstein, Senators Levin and Stabenow,

Alex says ... on Sunday, Mar 8 at 4:50 PM

Suspicionless, internal checkpoints and roadblocks up to 100 miles from the border- Welcome Home Troops Check out the Sequim Gazette- to debunk the idea that support for the Border Patrol would not appear on any news ...etc.

Aztlan Buster says ... on Sunday, Mar 8 at 3:05 PM

It is outrageous that there are US citizens in our midst that actually object to law being enforced by the Border Patrol. Bunch of anti-American traitors, IMO. Illegal aliens are criminals and parasites, one and all. Deport 'em!

Joey says ... on Sunday, Mar 8 at 1:11 PM

Makes me proud, Americans standing up for America. I personally will give my time, money and energy to see to it that all illegal aliens are deported. Join NumbersUSA, FAIR , local minutemen chapters. etc.

Alex says ... on Sunday, Mar 8 at 12:44 PM

Here at home, US citizens are not required to carry proof of citizenship. The standard driver's license does not prove citizenship- so how does a verbal citizenship check (Honor System) stop a terrorist?

LadyM says ... on Sunday, Mar 8 at 12:42 PM

Proud to see the support for those that are enforcing the law of this country. Anyone that doesn't support the BP should be considered a traitor. Keep up the good work BP Agents and American citizens. Illegal's get out we can't afford you anymore !!!

LadyM says ... on Sunday, Mar 8 at 12:40 PM

Proud to see Americans finally standing up for those that enforce the laws of this country. Anyone that doesn't support BP should be considered a traitor. Keep up the good work BP Agents and American citizens and legal immigrants.

June says ... on Sunday, Mar 8 at 11:46 AM

As long as we have people who profit from illegal immigration, it will continue. And, as long as our elected officials give tacit approval by remaining silent and doing nothing to stem the tide, we can expect a nation filled with criminals.

uniteas1 says ... on Sunday, Mar 8 at 8:46 AM

There"s a reason why they are called ILLEGAL ALIENS. Not only come here illegaly but they work here illegaly. Need to prosecute the employers as well. Our laws need enforced with some teeth in them! And we do not seperate their families, They do that

uniteas1 says ... on Sunday, Mar 8 at 8:42 AM

And I agree with the people supporting the "Border Patrols". If these people are illegals then they need to leave or be deported. I read another article where an American (Chris Smith) waved a Salvadoran Flag. Maybe this man needs deported as well!
