Tree on the house

Neighbors tree falls on house- Arlington

(Smokey Point) This morning we were startled by a large THUD! Because the wind was blowing, my first thought, was I bet a tree fell....as I flew out to see branches out my front door. A row of 5 trees on the opposite side of the fence in our neighbors property were suddenly missing one. It had broke off at the base (rotten) and fallen down crushing the fence, sailed across the driveway and into the peak of our house. The tree fell within inches of the weatherhead and all electrical power. It also fell within just 2 feet of our SUV parked in the driveway (branches were up against the car) The cable line came down across the road as the PUD came to cut away some of the tree. It could have been much worse if the tree had hit the electrical, possibly causing a fire and much worse damage. The roof is damaged along the eve and the fence will need to be rebuilt as it snapped the fence post off in one area, but we are glad that everyone is safe
