Christy connecting with a local bride

It's not a living, it's a life.

Christy Pelland doesn’t make a living doing her job. She makes a life. She lives to build relationships in the community she serves. Her ability to bring people together for a common cause or goal is contagious and inspiring. Whether she is photographing a wedding, a local event, a newborn, senior portrait; she captures in images what words cannot. Giving people a visual history of the most important days of their lives. But she doesn’t just take photographs, she connects and inspires people in the work she does. She is constantly thinking of ideas and projects to be a part of. The “Stand Out Prom” contest is just one example. She came up with an idea to give an exceptional High School girl a chance to be recognized for her hard work, by providing her with a full salon day, flowers, custom jewelry, shoes, a photo-shoot with Christy, and a catered grad party. Christy inspired and brought others in the community together to give this girl the well-deserved recognition and a once in a lifetime experience.
She is constantly searching for more ideas and projects to be a part of. She is throwing an end of summer event for her friends and family to raise money for a local charity, she is volunteering at the Special Olympics next week, she is collaborating with Che'mel Salon and the Muscular Dystrophy Association to give each lady at MDA Summer Camp a beautiful portrait and a special experience at their End if Summer dance. She is an active member of her alma mater Pacific Lutheran University advising and mentoring fellow lutes. She’s a busy lady, but always makes time for her friends and family. She mentors her tween age cousins, throws Monday night dinners for her friends, volunteers her weekends to work parties, collaborates with her fellow designers to help other aspiring artists get their feet on the ground, and always makes time for her grandparents on Thursdays.
But her reach doesn’t end there. She is a dear friend, a wonderful wife, a fabulous mother, and an outstanding professional. She is an inspiration for woman in all aspects with her class, poise, energy and spirit. She leads her life as an example to others, getting involved and giving back. She strives to be her best at everything she does. She deserves this award and to be recognized for the extraordinary woman that she is.

As a fellow business owner & who has worked with Christy on the "Stand Out Prom" contest, I feel its our obligation to share our talents and resources. Christy is a shinning example of someone who lives her life by that philosophy!

Just wanted to echo the above. The "wedding" industry is full of professionals happy to take, take, take, from the lucrative business. Christy is one of a shining few who gives of her time, advice, and resources. A pleasure to know and be around!
