Around 11:15 last night a Lynnwood undercover patrol car traveling east on 128th was struck by a white Lexus that ran the red lite at 8th and 128th in everett.
The officer driving the patrol car was taking to the hospital with minor wounds as well with the lady driving the white car, the passengers in both cars were treated on scene and released.
The patrol car when struck was deflected off of the road flying over the curb missing the stoplite pole, a sign pole, a 600LB rock, and a car parked in the parking lot below.

police light bars also have the light emiter to change the lights. but it still has to cycle through a yellow to red on the other directions.

Looks like a bunch of people missed that the driver of the Lexus and NOT the cop ran the red light...geesh why are people SO bent towards assuming it was th cops fault??? Dumb lady was probably on her cell!

Spykester if it was that easy to change the traffic signal everyone would have figured that out by now. It requires a pre-emtion device that only FD uses at a very high frequency rate that could not be duplicated by lightbars or headlights!

just about all police officers does have the tendencies to go through the light or make the light changes since all they got to do is flash their lights real quick. ive seen that happen all the time around tacoma and lakewood
