Sunday morning we decided to take our dogs to the beach to play. We chose Saltars Beach in Steilacoom because it's a beautiful place and very peaceful. We had only been there about 30 minutes when we saw two NOAA boats nearing the shore. We weren't sure what they were doing but we kept an eye on them. When they got about 200 yards offshore, we saw 3 orcas!! Two big ones and one baby. They were swimming round, breeching and appeared to be playing with the NOAA boat. They stayed around for about 15 mins and the finale was the two larger ones went under water and came back up tail first! It was all like it was in slow motion. It was amazing!!!! They stayed like that, tails in the air for about 15-30 secs, then they were gone. We spotted them later heading north towards the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. Beautiful!!!
