AFSP: Out of the Darkness

Sarurday, October 10th at 10 am, the Washington State chapter of The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is holding our annual community walk at Greenlake Park.

In the United States, a person dies by suicide every 16 minutes, claiming more than 32,000 lives each year.

This is a public awareness community walk, where anyone can come out, walk, and support this important cause. There is no fee required to register and walk, however more information and advance registration is available at www.outofthedarkness.org.

Please join us this Saturday to celebrate life, and learn more about our chapter, research, and educational programs about depression and other underlying causes of suicide, and help save lives.

My son suicided 2 months ago. I walk Saturday to remember what a wonderful person he is, and to support AFSP in finding a cause for suicide so other families will not have to experience this horrific sadness.

AFSP is amazing and does such important work. I'm proud to be a part of it and look forward to this event- a way to celebrate the life of my brother, lost to sucide and also celebrate the lives that AFSP will win through their work!
