SHS Fire program

At Sumner High school, there has been a Fire program class there for 7 years, until this last semester. No one knew about it, until it was announced to the instructers, they were shocked. They didnt even allow anyone to try and fight it. The student were shcoked and horrified that the one class they were excited to attend every day would be gone. Reasons they got rid of it was because (1) they needed to receive more teachers for math and science, because of WASL scores. (2) decreased amount of students in the past years. (3) spending too much money for the program. Well, for reason number one, it doesnt even apply until 2012, since no student has to pass the math or science WASL. For reason number two, Mr. Taylor, one of the fire instructer, wanted to go down to the junior highs and recruit people, but the principal said no. From the start of the beginning of the class, the principal never once stepped into that portable, ever! and for reason number three, there were plenty of
other ways the program could have gotten money but they were never given the chance. I have seen so many students step into that class and come out of it as a better person! students who were trouble makers, or others who didnt go to school, but went everyday just for that class. I can make a video of all the students telling you how much they hate that the class is leaving. It has touched everyone in some way or form. please help this program!
