1910-2010 100 year anniversary of Wellington Washington. Is Wellington really haunted by the ghosts of the past? Some say that the ghosts of the past haunt the area. Tucked in the Cascade Mountains near Stevens Pass a town was created in 1889 as a stop for the trains traveling to Everett and Seattle. The town was called Wellington but changed to Tye around the summer of 1910. At 1:42 am on March 1 1910 a snow slide crashed into two trains of RR workers and passengers taking them into the ravine below and to their ice deaths. NWPIA has been researching the area for over 5 years, trying to answer the question, is death just the beginning of life?
