A memorial was held today on Pier 91 for Capt. Phil Harris, part owner and captain of the crab fishing vessel the Cornelia Marie, made famous on the Discovery Channel’s program “The Deadliest Catch.” He suffered a stroke in January of this year and passed on in February. This was a public memorial for him and fans from all over the country came to honor him. Many of the captains and crew from the different ships on “The Deadliest Catch,” including Harris’s sons, were also there to pay their respects.
