Amazing Family Story!!

Family adopts 2 Down Syndrome Orphans!

The Browning Family of Port Orchard, is an amazing family of 8 who's youngest was born with Downs Syndrome. By fall or winter of 2010, this sweet family is planning to adopt 2 more Down Syndrome orphans from the Ukraine! Having a child born with Downs deeply touched their lives is a special way. After hearing about the poor treatment and fate of many DS orphans in other countries, they knew they just couldn't "walk on by" without doing something to help.

After prayer and consideration by Philip and Charrissa, they knew that they wanted to become a "forever family" for one of these orphans... then, after a homestudy, they found out that they qualified to adopt two! They were thrilled at this and happy to be bringing home 2 precious blessings!

The cost is high to adopt these sweet little ones, with all the paper work and travelling, and the family is hosting some great raffles in the coming weeks as a fund raiser. You can view the raffles and follow thier story at:

The websites are amazing...It makes me feel ashamed at my priorities at times. At the end of our lives will material possessions and financial gains matter or will it be the lives we touch. Our family will be praying what God might have us to do!

What a great article and family. Going forward please use people first language. "Family adopts 2 orphans with Down syndrome". We need to remember that everyone is a person first. My "son has Down syndrome" and he is a blessing. God Bless.
